Agroforestry project
Meg Wah carried out a pilot agroforestry project in a village named Tali 1, in South West Region of Cameroon.
The goal of the project was to reduce deforestation and enhance livelihoods. 30 trained cocoa farming families benefited from a tree nursery with 3000 agroforestry trees. Elementary school children served as caretakers of the trees when they were planted in the cocoa farms. In the long run, the project will increase the carbon sink, water, and nutrient retention ability of the Tali 1 community. The project was a success and we want to replicate it to benefit other families in the area and the region
